ABOUT
Welcome to the ultimate Marathon experience in Solwezi!
NOTE: Ticket sales and the ability to cancel purchases will both expire on Saturday 18th May.
In 2023, the Kansanshi Marathon made history as the first ever mining company in Zambia to host a marathon.
With over 1100 participants in our inaugural event, we also set the bar high as the first Zambian marathon to be world accredited in the North-West Province.
We were delighted to attract participants from countries such as Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa, making this a truly international event and we look forward to seeing the event grow each year.
The event will feature ZAAA and World Athletics accredited 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km run races.
In 2023 our event recorded the fastest half marathon ever seen on Zambian soil!
This event is also a qualifier for the 2025 edition of the Comrades Marathon.
Top 5 winners per distance will be awarded prizes on the day. First prizes are:*
- K42,000 for the Full Marathon
- K21,000 for the Half Marathon
- K10,000 for the 10 Km run All 10Km tickets are now sold out. Consider the Half marathon, but there are not many of these tickets left either!!
- K5,000 for the 5km fun run STOP PRESS!! All 5Km tickets are now sold out. Go on! you can do 10Km, you know you can!!
Age group podium winners will be awarded personalized prizes and awards.

Please note that if you do not immediately receive your tickets after your mobile money purchase, please expect a delay of up to an hour. There is an occasional delay in ticket issuing with purchases made via mobile money which includes Airtel and MTN.
If you do not receive your tickets after an hour please send an email with a screenshot of the SMS showing the deduction to [email protected].
For athlete wellbeing reasons, the following minimum ages apply:
- Full Marathon: 18 Yrs
- Half Marathon: 16 Yrs
- 10 Km: 12 Yrs
- 5 Km: 3 Yrs
Ages will be calculated as on race day.
Are you currently enrolled in a Zambian government school? If so, you may be eligible for a discounted entry. Ask your school principal to email us at [email protected].
- Entries will CLOSE on 18th May 2024.
- All entries must be made here.
- No late entries will be accepted, and no entries can be accepted by any member of the organizing committee.
Join us at Trident College for a scenic run along the Kansanshi Mine main road and into the heart of Solwezi, before returning to the Mine and finishing back at Trident College.
* Prize money will be allocated at the prize giving ceremony, with only a small cash amount (as decided by the event organisers) given on the day if requested by the prizewinner. The remaining winnings will be electronically transferred to the accounts of the winners.
Important: If you wish to cancel or change a booking in any way, you will need to cancel your existing booking and enter a completely new booking with the new details. You will receive a refund from Quicket for your cancellation, minus an administration fee.
Cancellations cannot be entered after Saturday 18th May.
If you need to cancel:
- On the Quicket website, click 'Logon', and logon using the email address that you used to purchase the ticket.
- If you do not know or remember your password, click Forgot Password.
- Click 'My Tickets'.
- Click 'Manage Booking'
- Click 'Request a Refund'
- Tick the box for the ticket you wish to cancel.
- Tick the box confirming your decision.
- Click 'Refund Tickets'
- You will receive your refund after seven to ten days, minus the Quicket administration fee. If you do not receive your refund, contact [email protected]. Do Not contact the event organisers, they are not able to assist.
